full name:[/b] Natalya Katia Petrova
age: 21
sexual orientation: Straight
blood status: Half
house/former house: Ravenclaw
occupation: She can't really keep a job, so she's between them.
alliance: Order
amortentia: strawberries, orchids, amber, powders, rich wood smoke, faint under layer of musk
patronus: Natalya's happiest memory was her twelfth birthday, right before starting her second year at Hogwarts. Her father was actually present, her mother made no remarks. Not to mention, her parents bought her a brand new broom, the latest model at the time. Natalya's patronus takes form of a fox. She likes to think it's because foxes are clever, discreet and sneaky. Just. Like. Her.
boggart: Natalya's boggart would no doubt take the shape of Talya herself, just aged quite a bit. The one thing she fears above all else is old age. Every day, she mourns the loss of her youth, knowing that someday, she is going to be wrinkled and old. With the fear of being old comes the uncertainty of what will happen to her.
erised: She'll never admit it, but her erised would show herself, a few years older, surrounded by beautiful little children, and a doting husband.
strengths:
Quick reflexes
Wit
Friends
Sarcasm
Creativeness
weaknesses:
Lack of balance
Boys
Temper (eh, she's a redhead, what do you expect?)
Indecisive
Impatient
likes:
DUELING Talya plays to win. It's not like she is going to go and fight with her fists when she has the option of a wand. Really, how stupid would that be? She could dirty her outfit, then her opponent would have to pay with their life. Well, not really, but she will be very pissed off and probably hex them. Anyway, she likes dueling because it teaches how to defend oneself, and a girl should always have a way to do so.
MUGGLE FASHIONS She quite enjoys the fashions muggles have. That seems to be about the only thing they're good at. Why wear boring dress robes when there are such amazement like dresses and bell bottoms! And, have you ever seen a witch hat that wasn't pointy? Talya is quite fond of knit caps, especially during winter when her ears get cold.
BOYS Okay, really, does this need explanation? Some of them happen to be quite attractive, a quality Natalya very much approves of. Don't all girls love pretty things? The girl's a victim, and she has no problem admitting it. Besides, she eventually is going to have to marry a man, so she mind as well tolerate them. She certainly isn't going to run off with a hairy-legged lesbian.
SARCASM Since it is her God-Given talent, why wouldn't she like it? It is the bodies natural defense against stupidity, after all, and heaven knows there's plenty of stupid people to be found. She does enjoy sarcasm, as it is often a indication of wit, something that she is ever-fond of. The girl gets a kick out of banter, and there are often smart-ass remarks to be exchanged. It should qualify as a second language, if she does say so herself.
BROOMS Floo Powder is dirty, and if it isn't already clear, Natalya does not like to sully her attire. Of course, there's also apparation and an assortment of other transportation, but Talya prefers brooms. They're fast, and she can feel the wind in her hair. Not to mention, they're a lot safer than those deathly muggle contraptions. She's become quite fond of them over the years, even though she had a falling out and snapped her broom in half when she fell off a couple of years back. Not to worry, though. She has the latest model.
dislikes:
GRANDMOTHER Victorya Snodgrass. The old crone is terrifying. Once, when Talya was twelve, she had to stay with the witch over the holidays. Needless to say, her grandmother had her dressed up in an ugly old dress that was obviously meant for a life size doll, not an actual human being. As if that wasn't horrible enough, she made Talya help her shear her garden! The old bat was crazy! Not only was it overgrown with weeds, it was infested with gnomes. One even bit her. She was positively horrified, especially when her grandmother told her that one bite would turn her into a ugly little shriveled hellion, herself!
PATIENCE It might be a virtue, but Talya has no patience at all. She's always been one of those 'right here, right now' kind of people. Sitting around ruminating just doesn't sit well with her. She often gets figity when doing so.
SUMMER Blasted season. Talya cannot stand it at all. Summer comes with humidity. Humidity frizzes her hair up beyond even magical control. And, the heat makes her downright intolerable.
habits: Hair twirling, lip biting.
goals: To ruin the world.... bwahaha. Talya has no current goals. She doesn't believe in setting herself up for disappointment, and she's too ADHD to remember what she wanted to do with her life last week, much less plan for the future.
personality:
There are quite a few things that people have come to view over the past few years of actually knowing Talya. The first is that she is very outspoken and bold. She is sincere about almost anything having to do with other people and how she feels about things concerning them or how they've made her feel. However, she isn't mean about it. She is a bit complacent about most things and when she says stuff, she just says it normally, with no hint of bitchiness nor caring. It just comes out, as if she were saying "howdy" or something else completely without other meaning. Talya has took on the role of being aloof and nonchalant. Let's just say, Talya has a great poker face as well. She is one of the most compulsive liars you will ever meet. "[She's] the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life. It's awful. If [she's] on her way to the store to buy a magazine, even, and somebody asks her where she's going, she's liable to say she's going to the opera. It's terrible." (Catcher in the Rye) Her imagination is expansive and the lies she creates in her head have often times become almost like reality for her, before getting the wake up call. However, more often than not, she finds the defining line between reality and idealism.
When it comes down to it, Natalya is a bit reckless. She has a fine head for adventure and she tends to like taking risks, with people and with dangerous situations. Hey, even if it means breaking something, it's easily fixed, even if it can be painful. In essence, the girl tends to be a bit irresponsible when it comes to other things. However, the girl doesn't lack any sense of motivation. To call Talya 'determined' would be quite appropriate. She focuses on the things she wants and will try very hard in order to get what she wants. Friends, materialistic things, boys. You name it. Talya is ambitious and has high hopes for her future, even if they may be a far cry from what she has the skills for. She knows that a professional ballerina or a model are very out of her league, for the fact that she isn't graceful in the least bit, however, it's a neat idea. Unfortunately for her, she may be very close to brilliant, but she has never had exceptional organizing skills. Even her head is a bit out of whack at times. Sometimes, if there is too much in there, she gets a little messy with her thinking.
Around her peers, Talya is quite the lighthearted person that she once wasn't on the exterior. There is constant moments when you would be able to catch her laughing heartily at something silly. She is, in a sense, recapturing her youth, as she never had it before. She is genuinely friendly, if not a little bit indifferent towards most people. Don't take her indifference personally, though, she just isn't able to hop into friendships very easily. Talya isn't suspicious of peoples' motives or anything, but she can be a bit guarded with her own personal emotions, especially since her eyes always betray her. She's working on that. Once a person gets past the complacent side of her, he or she would come to notice that she is a lot more than just a hearty laugh and a brilliant smile.
Natalya has always had to cope with ever changing mood swings. They go from one minor extreme to another. She may not actually be manic-depressive, but she has quite a few of the characteristics. She isn't the most emotionally stable of people, though most people can't tell that from first glance. It's hard for most people to see the normally hardly serious and jovial girl that she is as being a bit hot headed and stubborn at some points and then carefree the next.
Sometimes she has a hard time accepting the idea of not hurting her friends, but she has gotten better at it and has calmed down the mood swings increasingly ever since she actually started making friends. As a friend, she has her faults, but she is definitely a very trustworthy friend and tends to epitomize the idea of zipper-ing up one's mouth after hearing something. She is a very forgiving person and doesn't really know how to hold a grudge, which is a good thing for her. And while she can be manipulative to some, she doesn't really place her friends on the other end.
Natalya has the common trait of being so sarcastic, that it’s almost un-human. Just about every other word out of her mouth has a sarcastic bite to it, or is a witty remark. And, although some of her words don’t seem harsh or cruel at the beginning, most people have realized that with her tone of voice the girl can make anything an insult - even the nicest compliment ever can sound horrid when talking to her.
Natalya is blunt. She speaks her mind. If she thinks you’re obnoxious, she’ll tell you. If you’re sitting in her spot, she’ll make you aware. If she disagrees with you, you’ll be the first to know. She doesn’t hold back her thoughts, and she’s not afraid to say what she means. If she thinks that you’re an idiot, she’ll say it to your face. Probably not the best social skill in the world, but it certainly comes in handy for certain situations.
appearance:
During her childhood, Talya wasn't what people would have considered pretty. She was an ugly duckling through and through. She had unmanageable fire hair, large framed glasses that looked like they could pick up satellite (her parents didn't believe in magical eyecare), acne covered skin (nor magical remedies, for that matter), all that jazz. On top of that, she was extremely thin to the point where she looked anorexic. Even her voice wasn't too appealing, being raspy and crackly. School was always tough for her for girls poked at her and made fun of her while boys didn't give her a second of their time. She was ridiculed, she was mocked, people played cruel pranks on her, and they never failed to mention that she was ugly and would never have a chance with any boy. She was severely self conscious because of this and wore large, baggy clothes to hide her horrendous body.
She stayed that way until, over the summer before her sixth year at Hogwarts, everything suddenly changed. Like the story goes, the ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan. She grew up and filled out, her skin is now clear after constant treatment, she ditched the glasses, and she gained a little weight, putting some meat on her bones. Her voice is softer now, smooth, and very pleasant to hear. She finally feels pretty, more confident, and everyone seems to notice. Girls that once made fun of her envied her, and boys flocked to her like a migration of birds.
Lets start from top to bottom. On top of Talya's head lies a pile of red curly tresses that reaches a little passed her shoulders, sometimes longer. She usually has the tousled look being that her hair is naturally curly but she hates it and likes to straighten it out when her curls start to annoy her. Her hair was once flat and dry, and fell victim to split ends and frizz. It looked completely dead, a big contrast to what it is now. Now, her hair has volume, bounce, shine, and looks very healthy. Split ends and frizz are long gone. Her hair is now one of her more defining features.
Her greatest feature would, no doubt, be her eyes. Most compare them to the eyes of a doll, innocent and large. Their color is what makes them her most defining feature. Depending on her surroundings, what she's wearing, or her mood, her eyes can be a deep brown or a light hazel. Sometimes they're a mixture of both. Her eyes are surrounded by naturally long eyelashes and above them rest a pair of thin, delicate eyebrows. They say eyes are the doors to a person’s soul and, in a way, this is true for Natalya's. Whatever she feels is played like a movie in her eyes, making it easy for anyone to read her like a book no matter how hard she tries to show little to no emotion. For this reason, she has trouble making eye contact with anyone, not wanting to be read so easily. Her next greatest feature would be her smile. Once crooked, her teeth are now pearly white and straight, leaving her with a bright, dazzling smile. It's something she likes to flaunt, the girl always seeming to have a smile on her face. She's known for her large, goofy smiles which light up her face and reach her eyes, giving her the look of a very happy girl. If there's one thing she's confident about, it's her smile. Full, bubblegum pink lips with a strong cupid's bow surround her lovely, new pearlys.
Her figure is the main thing Natalya is still a bit self conscious about. Though she has some meat on her bones now she is still unusually thin, only weighing 110 pounds. She's not stick thin, far from it, but still enough to look a little unhealthy. There's very little curve to her figure and, instead, is slightly bony. The best way to describe it would be to say she has a model like figure.
One major flaw in her appearance, at least in her opinion, is her height. She is quite short, standing at only five feet, three inches. Because of this she often wears high heels to give her a little extra height and to make her legs seem longer than they really are. Her height is a flaw and an irritation to her as she can't reach things, or see over people without standing on the tips of her toes. She also dislikes the nicknames, shorty and shrimp for example, which comes along with being vertically challenged. It would be wise not to call her any of those nicknames, or even point out that she's short. It's a touchy subject for her and she can become a little snappy if her height is mentioned.
marks, scars, tattoos, etc:
The only flaw her skin has is a few freckles that are sprinkled over her nose and under her eyes, and a small scar on her arm which she received in her childhood after suffering a nasty fall.
overall style:
She still likes to wear big and baggy clothes to hide it but she's slowly getting over that and wearing things that are more flattering to her figure. She loves to get dressed up and has been known to slip into things that show a little skin and is tight fitting.
mother: Marissa Snodgrass-Petova
father: Issac Petrova
siblings: Ducan Petrova
spouse: Ha, as if anyone could tame Talya.
children: Oy, you mean MORE little redheads running around, with Talya as their mum. Ha! The wizarding world is not ready for such.
other family members: None of much relevance.
wealth status: Middle Class
pets: Any pet she meets becomes hers. It explains her flat full of kittens. Luckily, her faithful pet friend, Bowtie The Owl, doesn't try and eat them.
history:
Natalya Petrova was born into a family, whom wasn’t really expecting a second child at the time, but in any case it was enough, though at the time they were traveling in Romania. Both Isaac and Marissa Snodgrass were thrilled nevertheless and of course, they were in love and now they were graced with another child, what could they have possibly wanted anything more? But of course, Isaac being a pureblood and Marissa being a half-blood they worried whether or not their child would lead a life they would have intended, considering she would be magical either way. Saying this, Ducan, their five-year-old son now had a lovely baby sister.
Isaac had lead a life of breeding dragons, which was always an amazing sight and because it was so dangerous. Though, this was ultimately the death of his wife, which wasn’t the plan though everyone knew something was going to happen. After that, he returned to London with his two children as if his days of breeding dragons never happened. He was in denial, it was just one of those times where he just didn’t want to speak of it, they just up and left after that. The only good thing good thing that came with was the money that he had made and the fact that he had enough gold to support both of his children even if he were to meet an untimely end to his life. There was always that and then the fact that he wanted his children to learn all they could, not only about magic, but also about how to act.
Talya was forced to dedicate most of her life into her studies to become an elegant and intelligent woman. She was brought up learning not only about magic, but also Etiquette, Manners and Poise unlike other girls her age, but then again, she had magic. She was raised to be a good little girl with everything her father didn’t want her to be, and much to his surprise she turned out to be the exact opposite. She was raised to be a strong person, much like her father and intelligent as well, but she lacked the proper motherly nudge to make it a success. She was surrounded by women all her life, but that only brought her up so far and it did not teach her much and he regretted it soon after. Though, Ducan was doing quite well taking after his father in many ways, though he was scared that he could going into the field of dragon breeding after he was finished his stay at Hogwarts. By this time it was clear that Talya wasn’t going to grow up as planned and nothing could stop it from being, even if she was naturally intelligent and quite resourceful in some respects. Being the well-behaved girl wasn’t such a stretch either, but her interests were swaying more into Dragons everyday as her father and brother told her stories.
Her father brought all the hate upon himself for this, for he couldn’t train his daughter to be a certain way, for that to happen she most certainly needed a mother figure, though he wasn’t much of a father figure himself. He would be off weeks or months at a time working and exploring because by that time he had gotten over the shock of his wife dying to the likes of Dragons and he was back in the swing of things. Also it was a getaway from seeing his daughter’s face, who, in fact had quite the strong resemblance to her mother’s.
By the age of eleven, it was no surprise that she had obtained a letter to Hogwarts. In her early years at Hogwarts, she was rather a quite girl that liked to observe more so than socialize unlike the other people in her year. It didn't help her much she had the ugly duckling syndrome. But she managed, and later blossomed into a attractive young lady. After finishing her education, she still had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. She spends her time dabbling into things here and there, but hasn't found her calling.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was part of him — and I didn’t know how potent that part might be — that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
Ah, snap. I just proved I cannot write. Delete me for unleashing such atrocity. JK.

On the rare occasions Lily left the grounds of her house. If she did, it was to go to the grocery store or to the library or the cemetery- someplace boring, dull, or taboo. The boring places were for necessities of life, the boring for research/recreation, and the taboo for inspiration. Nothing gave better inspiration for a Vampire novel better than someplace that people would discourage from going due to superstition. Other than that, Lily spent her days and nights writing, sleeping, cleaning and very occasionally eating- truth be told she made and prepared more food than she actually consumed. She didn't have much of an idea of fun, though occasionally, on the nicer nights, she'd take her Ducati (currently half hidden behind some of the boxes) for a quick spin. Cleaning was her other recreational activity, and reading. But she never really thought of either as fun- just things to keep ehr mind busy. She'd never gotten out much, never had a chance to find out about the "fun" business that consumed places like Corona and her peers. Fun was hardly even a word in her dictionary.
Lily didn't realize the fully effect she had on people either- or, she did, but she couldn't help it. Her childhood was spent attempting to hide in the shadows, trying to keep attention off of herself and attempting to merely disappear. She'd finally achieved the ghost-like state she'd always shrived so hard for, though rather than the un-noticed one, she'd become the kind that gave people chills.
While Miles walked closer, she'd found herself unable to tear her eyes away from the man approaching. There was something almost... familiar about him. Not in the sense that she knew him, but... as though his presence were a familiar one. God forbid she realize that it was because he was so much like her; that person wanting so much to be a part of the world and having so little idea of how to. It wasn't until he spoke that her eyes ripped away from his, glancing down at the pad of paper as though she were just caught doing something she shouldn't have been.
"This is your's, I believe. The mailman accidentally gave it to me."
Lily avoided looking at him while he spoke, finally turning back to him with her eyebrows pushed towards each other with some mis-understanding in her mind. "Oh." Her voice was soft, delicate. Lily's chest moved as she took a slow breathe in, unsure what to do- she really just didn't know how to react or deal with other people, which was such an odd contrast to the characters in her books who so often seemed to know exactly what to say at exactly the right moment. Her eyes flickered, unsure, around the garage a bit, before she finally pushed her legs off the chair, setting them firmly on the ground and standing, holding her legal pad to her chest with one hand and reaching out to take her mail with the other. She glanced at the top piece of it, and then back up to him, standing there getting soaked in the rain. It was probably polite to let him come in and dry off since he'd brought it over and all. Wasn't that what people normally did?
"Umm... it's probably cold in the rain." Thank you, Captain Obvious. Lily pushed some dark hair behind her ear, taking another slow inhale and deciding to take another stab at this whole human-interaction thing. "I mean- umm, do you... want to come inside for a second? Warm up?" Yes, now that was better, wasn't it? It seemed to be. Lily let the words run through her mind, finally deciding that yes, that was what one should do, and it wasn't all too weird. Of course, she couldn't help but be somewhat on edge herself- she looked shy and almost awkward, standing there with her knees bent delicate in towards each other at the smallest of angle, one arm clutching her legal pad to her chest and holding the mail in the hand attached to that arm, her other hand poised in her hair, just behind her ear and eyes flickering gently across his soaked form to the door and back. Her small, bow-shaped lips were separated slightly in question; if it wasn't evident that Lily wasn't the town's new socialite, then Miles was utterly blind.
